The Lord has placed it upon my heart to get this message out all day. I finally have the oppotunity. I read hons blog yesterday and was amazed by her giving. What an inspiration she was. I highly suggest clicking on her link (God is our Love) and reading her blog.
What she had done was take her youth group and cooked up spaghetti meals and took them to the orphanage. Now I know many people do this type of thing, but not when they are running a fever and sick. The Lord blessed her and helped her deal with the sickness while she served others in need. She took a stand against the enemy and done what she knew needed to be done. Her youth group and the orphans both received blessings.
After visiting the orphanage, they walked the streets in search of homeless people and blessed them with food. By the time she returned home, she was very sick. She gave of herself to help those in need at a time when she was weak. I think we can all learn from this great sacrifice. I know I think twice now when something is coming up that I really don't want to deal with. Plus, as of late, it's been on my heart about the great sacrifices that God & Jesus had made for us.
I'll talk about this later. I have so much going on in my head right now. Words are getting jumbled and not coming out right. This is such an important subject that I don't want to mess it up. The Prodigals
Tonight I am asking for prayer for the Prodigals.
As parents we want nothing but the best for our children. There are those of us that want that without realizing just what the best is. I was brought to the Lord by my grandmother. Attended church and Sunday school growing up. But then wandered when I left home and went into the military. Married a man that did not believe. I still believed, and talked to the Lord, but was not a true Christian.
Our two children had followed friends into Christianity which was a blessing. I wanted to be involved, but for some reason just couldn't do it. Now our kids are grown adults, 25 and 26. Our son, the oldest came to Christ and led us to Him as well. Our daughter once moving back to the states lost her Christianity. We've tried to bring her back, but to no avail. We continue to pray for her, as we believe she will return. Our son has waivered in the past due to medications and illnesses. He has been doing so good and now we may be losing him again.
My message is to all that have young children. Involve them in church and the word right away. We currently take some of our grand children to church with us. Sometimes they attend services, other times they go to Sunday school. They love it and crave it. One is 6, one is 4 and the other is 4 months. The baby is captivated by our Pastors voice! Ocassionally the 7 year old goes with us as well. He craves learning about Jesus as well. They may venture as they get older, but are much less apt to, and will come back much easier.
I wish I had stayed involved, but perhaps I went through what I did to teach me some important lessons in life. Regardless, I know what it is like to be without the Lord. Life is a struggle more than we could ever imagine until we find our way back. I can not imagine what it would be like to walk away now. I don't want to know.
So I'm asking that we all pray for the prodigals of the world, that they will be brought back, their faith will grow strong, they will stay with their walk in the Lord. Let's ask for the lost souls to be saved. They need us; they neeed Him. Luke 15:11-32 talks of the prodigal son.
Luke 15:31-32 NLV, "His father said to him, 'Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours. We had to celebrate this happy day. For your brother was dead and has come back to life! He was lost, but now he is found!" Amen. I'm believing the prodigals will come to life again and will be found again.
Matthew 18:12-14 NLV, "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the nintey-nine that didn't wander away! In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little-ones should perish."
I so enjoy reading the Jesus's parables. Some can be confusing, but when we take the time to read different translations it often helps. Also reading the commentary helps one have a deeper understanding. We have so much at our fingertips to teach us what the Bible says. God is good!
Thank you Father God for all the good you do. Thank you for never leaving us, standing by, waiting for us to come to you. Amen

Christmas Lights A New Perspective
Just thought I'd share a thought about Christmas lights. This thought came to me last year as we were driving around looking at the various houses all lit up. I love listening to the squeals of the little ones. Omah! Look over there; oh wow, that is neat; and on it goes. Yes, I admit, I love all the lights. But last year I looked at them in a different way. Here's what I see now and it warms my heart and makes me thankful and excited for the holidays more than ever.
When you see the lights aglow, they are lights celebrating Christ! Yes, this is what I see. It's a way to Glorify the Lord for all the good He does. It's a celebration of Jesus. It's a way of saying Happy Birthday Jesus! We Love You and Thank You for all that You have done. I have been teaching the girls that now. Of course they don't see it that way just yet, but I'm believing they will. And yes, we still do the, "look over there, oh look at those, wow, ew, ah...;)
So the next time you are out and about and see the beautiful display of lights, perhaps you too will have a different perspective on what they signify. Unconditional Love
Last night my little sister called to say the two girls they have been fighting to get custody of was taken from them for now and given back to the mother who is not able to care for them.
:( On their way home from court, her husband commented on how he looked into the babies eyes and saw unconditional love. He said that he had messed up with his boys, but would not mess up with these girls.
That got me to thinking. "Unconditional Love;" what exactly is it?
On wikipedia.com, which I do not use that much anymore stated:
"Unconditional love is a term that means to love someone regardless of his or her
actions or beliefs. It is a concept comparable to true love, a term which is more
frequently used to describe love between lovers. By contrast, unconditional love is
frequently used to describe love between family members, comrades in arms and
between others in highly committed relationships. It has also been used in a religious
context to describe God's love for humankind. However, this can be seen as
contradictory in some cases where God's "unconditional" love is predicated upon the
believer's fulfillment of one or more criteria."
From Webster's New Milennium Dictionary:
"Definition:
affection with no limits or conditions; complete love"
Unconditional love in my eyes says you love someone without any boundaries. You may get upset with them at times, but will forgive. Just like our Lord our Savior. Despite what it says in Wikipedia, I truly believe Gods love for us is unconditional.
My reasoning behind this is due to the fact that despite the years I had become a prodigal daughter, He never gave up on me. When we come back to Him and repent of our sins he takes us back with open arms. Our Father is a loving Father. I love the picture of Jesus being asked "How much do you love me?" And Jesus replies; "This Much" then He spread His arms and died on the cross for us. Is that unconditional love or what?
So my point is, we should follow Gods example and think of the little children--who Jesus loves so much--and their unconditional love.
