Charity; Hospitality; Brotherly Love; Poverty; Self Denial; Humility; Work; Help in Troubles; Righteousness; and Repentance. Taken from the NIV.
Charity: Luke 12:33: "Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys."
We always recycle clothes outgrown, not wore, in good shape, along with household items that never get used. Why throw them out when they are in good shape. Why sit all day for a garage sale, when you can give your things to those in need?
Hospitality: Acts 20:35: "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."
I think we must all admit, it is a good feeling when we give. I would much rather give than receive. I love to give to others, whether it be money, time, a helping hand, to go the extra mile, give household and clothing items, etc. Having a giving heart is so uplifting, especially when we can do it without expecting anything in return.
Brotherly Love: 1 John 2:10: "Whoever loves his brother lives in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble."
Love your brothers and sisters as you would want them to love you.
Poverty: Jeremiah 20:13: "Sing to the Lord! Give Praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked."
How wonderful is that! He WILL rescue us. Believe, believe, believe!
Self Denial: Titus 2:11-12: "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age."
Deny oursleves of the worldly and ways and ways of the flesh to live a good life. It can be hard at times in the beginning, but the closer we come to Him, the easier it is to follow Him. Lean in closer, focus on Jesus, move forward towards Him. Don't look back, don't doubt. Denying onself of something we should not have or do is a small sacrifice compared to what God and Jesus' sacricfices were, wouldn't you say?
Humility: Isaiah 57:15: "For this is what the high and lofty One says--he who lives forever, whose name is holy: 'I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite."
He is always there no matter the situation to guide us, lead us, or what ever the case may be when we humble ourselves and listen to His guidance.
Work: 2 Chronicles 31:21: "In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly, and so he prospered."
What greatness we receive when we are obedient, humbled, and serve by His name!Help in Troubles: Psalm 37:24: "Though he stumbles, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
Through trials and tribulations, He is always there to catch us. He is always there to pick us back up. All we have to do is believe and trust in Him.
Righteousness: Proverbs 13:21: "Misfortune pursues the sinner, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous."
Repentance: Psalm 147:3: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
One woman's journey with the Lord. A road traveled with and without Christ through trials and tribulations. Happiness, joy, peace, mercy and grace. All the Glory is His!

God's Promises: Saturday
Note: Just wanted to let you all know that it's been hard getting on her lately with the children, as baby boy is cutting teeth and is very cranky. :( So he takes up a lot of my time, plus, we kept the girls and celebrated A's birthday, as she turned 5 Fri. So when I miss days visiting, and/or posting, it's because I just don't get a chance.
Charity; Hospitality; Brotherly Love; Poverty; Self Denial; Humility; Work; Help in Troubles; Righteousness; and Repentance. From the NKJV
Charity: Luke 14:13-14: "But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just."
God loves a giver. We can never out-give Him. When we give in Jesus' name and not doing it to glorify ourselves, we are rewarded.
Hospitality: Mark 9:41: "For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward."
Being hospitable to one another is something that we should all partake in. For not one of us is better than the other. Christ never once turned His nose up to one single person.
Brotherly Love: 1 Thessalonians 4:9: "But concerning brotherly love you have no need that I should write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another."
This is plain and simple, which goes along with hospitality. We are all related, as we are all God's children. We should all show love and respect to one another. Just as, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Would you prefer others to snub you as you do them? Or would you rather be shown love as you show love to others?
Poverty: Psalm 69:33: "For the Lord hears the poor, and does not despise His prisoners."
God will care for those that are poor. He takes care of all His children. We must remember that he uses hard times as a lesson, and to draw us nearer. Sometimes we are in those situations because we walked our own walk.
Self Denial: Galatians: 5:24: "And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires."
I've been hearing this lately, and according to Life Principles Bible by Charles Stanley on this very verse: "Everyone who is Christ's died with the Savior on the cross. But believers must also crucify the fleshly desires connected with their as yet un-glorified bodies." Ahh yes. This is where we must deny ourselves of the worldly and fleshly ways. Not an easy task? No of course not, but neither was God's and Jesus' task. I know I want to be a Romans 12 Christian. I've got a lot of work to do yet. But it is possible.
Humility: Matthew 23:12: "And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Hallelujah! Would anyone be willing to tell how they would describe this verse?
Work: 2 Chronicles 15:7: "Therefore he said to Judah, 'Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the Lord our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side.' So they built and prospered."
Being a hard worker brings prosperity. Being a slacker/sluggard gets you nowhere but grief. Which one would you chose to be?
Help in Troubles: Nahum 1:7: "The Lord is good. A stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him."
When we run into troubled times, lean in closer, call upon Him. He will not forsake us. He knows our needs, He will provide. Be patient and wait upon the Lord. "Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, we will wait upon the Lord." Love that song. I hum that one often. I think He puts it in my heart often to remind me. ;) Ahhh, yes, God is good!!!
Righteousness: Proverbs 10:24: "The fear of the wicked will come upon him. And the desire of the righteous will be granted."
Sway from the wicked. If you hang around them long enough, it is easy for it to rub off on you. You slowly start to feed into the wickedness. Be wary of those who are consumed by evil. Instead, pray for them. Stay on the righteous path with a humbled soul.
Repentance: Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."

God's Promises: Saturday
Today's subjects are: Charity; Hospitality; Brotherly Love; Poverty; Self Denial; Humility; Work; Help in Troubles; Righteousness; and Repentance. All verses are from the NKJV.
Charity: Psalms 41:1-2: "Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; you will not deliver him to the will of his enemies."
The Lord loves a giver. Those who think of others and cares for those in need.
Hospitality: 1 Peter 4:9-10: "Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
We should receive one another with grace and kindness. We are all created by our Lord, acceptance of one another is key. Each one using God's gifts together generates more light onto Him. So much is accomplished when we work together.
Brotherly Love: John 13:34-35: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have lover for one another."
By the Lords example, we show others how great the Lords love is.
Poverty: Psalm 72:12-13: "For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper. 13 He will spare the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy.
This is a true testimony of the love of our Father for all. He will never let anyone go without. Some may say, "what about all the homeless, what about those in shelters." We must remember, God uses times of trials and tribulations to shake the foundation to bring us to Him, or to draw us nearer. Also, those totally down on their luck may be raptured by the enemy. God reaches out to them, but if they do not follow, He waits and prays for their souls. Sometimes some are so wrapped in the enemy they can not see their way out. God does all He can to call them back. There are those that just refuse to be saved. This is why it is so important for Brotherly Love, and charitablility to be used by us. We are God's servants and should be working to help bring those in need to a comfortable place in life and draw them to the Lord.
Self Denial: Matthew 16:24-26: "Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"
Are you willing to give yourself to the Lord and carry your cross, and follow His design for your life? I know I am. I can testify to the greatness of His love when one gives oneself to Him. Life is beautiful once we let go of what we want for our lives and live the way the Lord wants us to live it. Selling ones soul to have all the riches in the world, not worth it. What happens to all of it when your time comes to an end? Misery for eternity. Would it be worth it?
Humility: Matthew 18:4: "Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
Humbling oneself is so important. When we admit we are not worthy of receiving His gifts is when we really give ourselves to the Lord. False humility does not work. Humbling oneself as a way of drawing attention to oneself is not humble. We don't do it for recognition from others. We humble ourselves before Him.
Work: Genesis 2:3: "Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made."
God wants us to take a day of rest. It is important to care for our bodies so that we are able to carry out the responsibilities that He has laid upon us to do. If we do not get our rest, our bodies do not function properly, nor do our brains.
Help in Troubles: Psalm 37:39: "But the salvation of the righeous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble."
It is necessary to find our strength in our Lord, as He never fails us. Seek and you shall find. Ask and you shall receive. It's that simple. But...we must remember, everything is on His time. We may not always get our answers instantly. Sometimes He waits, as He is working on you. Sometimes God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. We may think we need certian things, or things done a certian way, but Father really does know best.
Righteousness: Psalm 84:11: "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly."
Amen and Hallelujah! Our God is a good God, the only God. He cares for those who walk in His ways. I can certianly testify to that. He is an all loving God. His grace and mercy is like none other.
Repentance: Mark 1:15: "and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
This is a simple request of us. Repent of our sins and all will be granted to us. How simple is that? After the suffering Christ went through for our sins, one would think this would be a simple tax. After all, it's the least we can do. But...when one is repenting one must be genuine in one's repentance. For if it's just a show, your repentance will not be accepted. There is no faking with God. He knows all, He sees all. Being genuine to Him, giving our all to Him opens so many doors!
As you can see, many of these all work closely together. One runs into the other and they all work together. Miss one of them, and the others do not work all that well.
May God Bless you all abundantly. Have a beautiful Christ filled day! Live your life to the fullest. Make a ripple and watch it grow! P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens).
