Yesterday was one of the best days I've had despite the constant pain and discomfort. I'm so thankful for God's love and the way he works.
I believe I have talked about my daughter with an Atheist fiance and one of his two boys being the same way. In our trips taking them to school and back often, we get a chance to talk and I play kids worship music most of the time. R would complain before but has given up on that. I figure the more you expose them, the more the Lord will sink in.
Well yesterday the Lord was speaking strongly to him and we were truly blessed. The baby was really fussy and usually rides good in the van, but yesterday he complained a lot. So on the way back home, I put in Jules new choir CD and C calmed down right away! Then R commented, "Well I guess he's going to grow up to be just like you guys." I sat quietly in thought and then the Lord gave me the word, "It's the peace of the Lord."
Well this brought up questions from R! He asked if it's bad not to pray or say grace everyday. I told him that it's not bad, but God does love to hear from us and the more we talk to Him the closer we come to Him. I used myself as an example that I haven't been praying regularly lately and have been having some difficulties. But when I pray regularly, (and I should have added read the word daily), then I'm much happier.
Shortly after this--I love God's timing--we see a vehicle that had the drivers side back in all crunched in with the trunk buckled up and the back window gone. This was an old Cadillac. R commented, "Man, I hope that dude has insurance." I told him that he probably didn't otherwise he wouldn't be driving around like that. I then said that I would add him to my prayers tonight. R said, I'm going to pray for him right now. I was shocked!!! So he was quiet, then said, "I just prayed that he would get Progressive." I love the way of children, from the mouths of babes.
So I told him that I felt that this man needed more than insurance that he probably needed a job or something, that he was obviously down on his luck. The inside of the car had parts of the roof falling down. So R got quiet again and then said he prayed that the Lord would help in what ever he needs. That really touched me. Here was a child determined to be like dad and not believe and all of a sudden he's praying for someone else. He's normally all about himself.
I told him that I was really proud of him and he made me very happy. This made him feel good too. Then he said, "Omah, you do need to pray for him because you are so much closer to God than I am. He will answer your prayers faster than he will mine." I told him that God listens to everyone and especially to children with caring loving hearts. and that the more people that pray, the more powerful those prayers become. He liked hearing that.
When we got to their house R commented that this was the happiest day of his life! I asked him if he knew what was going on. He asked what and I told him that God was working on him and He was pleased with him for coming to Him. I let him know that God was making his day better. He thought that was cool.
God's love; where would we be without it. This is living proof of the strength of His great love for His children.

Rest
Matthew 11:28[Jesus said,] "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Hmmm, this is a good one to ponder. We must allow ourselves rest in order to do the Lords work. After all, did He not say, "on the seventh day rest?" If we are tired, we tend to become cantankerous which can give off some very bad vibes. This is counter acting what we are suppose to be doing.
If we are tired out, we are opening ourselves up to allowing the enemy to enter much easier.
God's timing is perfect as always. I for one needed this verse, as for some reason I've been extremely tired. Although this could be do to being woken at 3 am. ;) I'm too stubborn to go back to bed and instead fall asleep in my chair which does not allow me to sleep continuously. Therefore, I'm tired, I tend to be shorter on patience, become cranky, and do not share the light of the Lord in this manner, instead, allowing the enemy to break in and take over what should be a beautiful time with family and grand kids. They then become irritable which only enhances the problem.
Lesson learned. Get plenty of rest. Your body is telling you to rest, hmmm, actually, God is saying, hey, slow down, rest and take care of your body so you can carry on by My will. Part of my problem is thinking I have to do it all to relieve pressure from others. Feeling like I'm failing if I don't try to help and much as possible where ever I can, and then becoming stressed, tired...you name it, and it just doesn't work that way.
For the first time in years, I sat down, allowed my son to clean up the kitchen and realized how nice it was to allow someone to help. He actually thanked me for allowing him to help. Eye opener? Oh yeah, big time. Oh I love how He works in our lives. Thank you Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit! You're Awesome!!!!

God's Covenant
In today's Crosswalk Live It! there is an article that talks about our Covenant with God. Do you know where you stand with God? The following are some paragraphs from there. They are so meaningful, and so true.
This first one is the whole paragraph from Crosswalk, as I wanted the full effect from the page.
"Recognize the difference between a covenant and a contract. Our society's main form of relationship is a contract -- an agreement between two parties that focuses on what each promises to do for the other and can easily be broken. But God wants to relate to you through covenant -- an unconditional promise of a permanent relationship. Don't let the world's prevailing form of relationship limit your thinking on how you can relate to God. Although other people can let you down, God will always prove reliable. Count on God to always do what's best. Unlike with a contract, in a covenant it's God Himself who protects your best interests. Decide to trust Him with every aspect of your life."
The next one talks about not striving to earn Gods love. We have a covenant with Him. We do not need to constantly try to prove ourselves to Him. Just live by His word, and we have Him. He's always there through the good and the bad. We must repent if we slip back into the flesh/worldly ways, but He is still there waiting for us.
Another good one is to not be prideful. When we are filled with pride, we distance ourselves from the Lord. This is not good. Humble ourselves before the Lord. All the glory belongs to Him. We can not go it alone. I've learned from experience that when we try to go it alone and feel we can handle it all on our own, that life can become difficult to a total nightmare.
Overcoming Fear is a good one. When we feel fearful, it tends to lead us away from God. We should be running to Him instead. He will protect us. Faith!
This one is so good. We all go through it. Some more than others, or so it seems. We must always remember He is going to test us from time to time, depending on our behavior and closeness to Him, but regardless, we are tested. Here is the paragraph on that subject:
"Pass the tests. God will sometimes test your faith. When God calls you to do something that seems ridiculous to others, choose to listen to God instead of worrying about what other people think. When you encounter a temptation, decide not to yield to it so you can please God and avoid trouble for yourself. God has demonstrated His perfect faithfulness through His covenant with you; place your full faith in Him."
The rest is the labels for each paragraph written. They all are good and worth reading. I highly suggest going to the link and reading the rest of the message. Here are the titles:
