Fitness Friday

Our assignment for today is to list what we do when we can not get to the gym or use our equipment at home, and to list our goals for next week only, not our long term goals. So here goes.
For now I am not allowed to use exercise equipment until I have the MRI and get the results back. Thankfully I find ways anyhow. ;) I've learned that if you move around the house quickly, often doing housework, you can work up a sweat and get that heart rate up some. Nothing like exercising of course. We do have stairs that I'm to avoid as much as possible but try to go up and down those at least once quickly. It's been working. I feel where there is a will, there is a way. We can always find some little thing to do that is beneficial.
This week went great until yesterday. :{ Darn it. My son just had to bring home a "big" bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. They are one of my weeknesses. Of course it's my own fault, as I joked around when they went to the store to pick some up. (blushing). So I told him that it's my mother's day gift so I can put 6 more inches around my waist. Of course hubby grimaced at this. I was joking of course. I just need to be strong.
Okay assignment 2. My goal for next week is to keep a positive attitude. Find what ever I can to keep myself moving quickly as often as possible. To really watch the food intake especially since I'm limited to activity. The biggest thing is to stay away from "FAST FOOD!" I have a habit of stopping there (too convenient) when out and about and I get hungry. This habit can set one back rather quickly. Bad Bad girl! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to beat this habit?
And last but not least, to keep a positive I can do this attitude. Anyone have any good ideas on how to do this too? J/K I'm trying.
Good luck everyone. I wish everyone continued success, and for those of us that have those week moments we can get back on track and not allow ourselves to get discouraged. I love this as we can support one another.

Thanks Denise. It's nice when we have one another to support each other. You are a great support!

OK, here's a tip...when driving around, always drive in the left lane. That way it will not be as easy to get over quickly to turn right at your first impulse to a fast food place!

Set small goals. This week...no fast food for five days...then just say...no fast food for 5 more days...and so on!

Drink lots of water too. The more water you drink, the more it crowds out your cravings.

Have a great week this week and stay positive and motivated :) Feel free to email me if you need a pep talk!

Don't get discouraged - hang in there and know that we are all in this together
Luanne has some great tips, set small goals so it doesn't seem so daunting ! : )

Don't go anywhere and you won't stop at fast food. Hmmm. That's not very helpful, is it? Luanne definitely had a good idea about driving in the left lane.

Enjoy your Mother's Day.... and make one goal a day. If you make it to the end of the day, how successful will you feel?! :)

Blessings to you this week! :)

A few penut butter cups won't put 6 extra inches around your waist- unless you eat them every day of course!

Hang in there and take it one day at a time.

I always keep a few snacks in the car - nutbars or 100 calorie packs. That way I can feed my hunger immediately, but KNOW it'll be enough to get me home, where I can feast on some healthier choices!

Back on our FF: The Snack Edition, people had some REALLY great suggestions for this! One was to pack up snacks in little baggies and keep them in your car with some juice boxes or bottled water. That way you won't be as likely to pull in the drive through.

For the positive attitude thing, I highly suggest watching the movie "Front of the Class." There was never a more positive person ever. Very inspiring!

Thank you Giovanna. That is one of the greatest parts of all this is the support to one another. You all are awesome! And yes, LuAnne does give some great tips!

Karly, one day at a time makes so much sense and am working on that. Have had a bad habit of setting goals that just aren't feasible and am impatient. (blushing),Oh and there have been days I'd rather not go anywhere. ;)

Terry, I know that a few wont add that much, it just struck me funny as I am trying hard to get in shape and have hit so many road blocks lately, but am not giving up. My problem is I love PB cups and it's hard to eat just a couple. But am working on that as well.

Tami, that is a smart thing to do. I used to do the same, but keep forgetting to grab things now, and the sad part, even though I had snacks with me that were healthy, I'd make an excuse to stop anyhow. I will say that I usually get a salad, or a rice bowl, but it still is fast food and the soda.:( And of course I'll still do the occasional burgers. I am staying away from the fries though!!!

Gin, thanks for the giggles. There is nothing better than a good laugh, and it helps shed a few calories as well!!!

Brenda, thanks for the information. I'll have to look into that. A positive attitude has not been much of a problem. Although it is frustrating hitting road blocks every time you think you get a break, but I know the good Lord has plans and knows what's best, so I am just doing the best I can.

Bless you all for your responses, support, and ideas. I will definitely be using them. I love the left lane idea, how convenient and smart that is! The snacks as well.

Gin, hope the Mother's Day thing all works out. :) Happy Mother's Day to all of you, may it be filled with love, joy and tons of blessings!

Tami and Brenda beat me to my suggestion. I too was going to suggest that you take healthy snacks with you and something to drink. That way, if you get hungry, you won't need to get fast food

Thank you Great-Granny! I need to get back into that habit. I do take something to drink always! That does help.
