Six Word Saturday

With Six Word Saturday, we are suppose to describe our lives in six words. When I first found this at Denise's Free to Be Me blog, I chuckled and thought, yeah, I can see me trying to do this one. I'm a very wordy person as you all have experienced with my very long posts. (blushing now). Then I went to Show My Face and found she is the same way. :) Yeah, so I decided to play along. Having fun is the best part of life!!! I like to join in on meme's so hear goes.

Today my life in six words is:

Uplifted, Happy, Prayerful, Thankful, Pitifully Procrastinating.

There you have it. That was hard, as I had so many thoughts. Hee hee. Have a great weekend all. Enjoy life, make the best of it, as we are only here for a very short time. We never know when our last day is, so live it like today is your last day! Blessings, love and hugs to all!!!

Looking for Answers

Have you had those days where you just feel lost, or confused and frustrated? Days where you keep thinking, "I know I'm suppose to cast all my fears up to the Lord," but you ask, "how can I do that when the same problems are facing me day in and day out and they never change?" Well that's what it's been lately.

I'm concerned about the well being of my grand kids, very concerned, and now my heart is breaking for my little sis. She is going through some terrible struggles, health wise, which includes physical, and now her marriage is coming to an end. I've been talking to the Lord, asking to be led to the right answers. Asking for the right words. Asking what it is I should be doing.

One thing that has hit me is I've been lacking in solid prayer and meditation, and definitely lacking in getting in the word the way I had been. Too many excuses letting the way of the flesh drive me instead of the Lord. The only thing I have been doing is being in constant conversation with the Lord.

So I went searching, and this is where I've been led so far. Charles Stanley's "Life Principles Bible" was my first place to look, since he has all the life examples, answers to life's questions etc. in the front. I came to "What steps can I take when I really need to hear from God" under Answers to life's questions.

Dr. Stanley talks about how we tend to complicate our desire to hear Him. He states, "we already have everything we need in order to discover what He wants for us." He also talks about daily things we can be doing through spiritual discipline. He lists four basic steps to take and dwell on.

1. Get in the Word, really read it. We need to be doing this every day. This is where we will find what it is He wants us to do. Stanley writes, "We learn about God's truth, mercy, love, and forgiveness." So very true.

2. Prayer, we need to pray in order to seek Him. We all know the most powerful position is to be on our knees, but as Dr. Stanley says, we can also see Him by simply bowing our heads in prayer as well. Praying should be done in a private, quiet place, where we can fully open ourselves up to Him in order to hear Him. We need to be able to listen for Him. Pastor Ken had said something that has always stuck with me; sometimes we put too much emphasis in talking/praying and not enough time just being still and listening. God doesn't want to listen to us go on and on, as He already knows what we need, but instead He wants us to come to Him and then listen. This makes very good sense.

3. Meditate, which we will hear most Pastors, Priests, Fathers, Preachers, etc. tell us. Meditating on His word will allow us to receive, hold and "take root in our souls," as stated by Dr. Stanley. By meditating on what He tells us and His word, we are allowing Him to build a solid "foundation in our hearts." I can't remember when I sat and really meditated. How sad is that. One of the basic foundations needed to be a part of Him.

4. Last but not least, "Listen." We not only need to listen with our ears, but with our hearts as well. Disruptions, noisy areas, minds some where else will not allow us to hear His sweet voice. We are going to hear sounds around us. Some distractive noises are often unavoidable. But we need to focus and gear our minds into "active listening" in order to really hear what He is telling us.

I thought this was some pretty good advice. I'm going to make sure I stick to this now. It's so important to have a good healthy relationship with God, which is one of my personal goals. The other area I was sent to was "Bearing One Another's Burdens," in the category of "What the Bible says about." This is referenced from Galatians 6:1-3.

"Many people object to the idea of accountability because they don't see how other people's actions are any of their business." But, the Bible says it is our business when others are known to sin, we need to be their to tell them and get them back on the right track.

Of the examples Dr. Stanley used was a woman who had been married only a short time when she found out her husband was a homosexual. Once she found out, friends of theirs told her that they had known before they even married. She was upset that they had not told her. They told her they felt it was none of their business.

How many of you feel her friends were right? On something like this, I think I would have to say something, as allowing someone to go ahead and marry someone that will eventually end up in divorce, spare them the pain and agony. The man was being deceptive. But I will admit, there are times I feel it's none of my business. There are times when I feel we are suppose to keep our mouths shut and let God handle it. So this piece is very befitting with what is happening here. Hubby & I have finally decided to talk to our daughter and her fiance about what we see.

Proverbs 28:23 "He who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than he who flatters with the tongue." This is an area that I have trouble with my little sister. I'm afraid to be upfront with her for fear of hurting her and making things worse. We have such a bond, I'm afraid of losing it. Dr. Stanley goes on to say, "Remember this, in an accountability relationship you are not responsible for how the other person responds to you. But you are responsible to tell the truth and then continue to love that person through the process." Those are some pretty powerful words.

Galatians 6:1-3
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Then last but not least, I started reading Max Lucado's "For these tough times: Reaching toward heaven for hope & healing. What great inspiration in this book. He is another of my favorite writers. I'll soon be making a list of books that I've read, what they are about, and whether or not I think they are worthwhile purchasing .

I hope this may have helped anyone else out there struggling with a problem or more. Sharing is a way of helping us all get through difficult times. It was amazing how calm I became after reading all this. God is so loving, forgiving, and always there. As Heather put it, "God is our All in All.! Amen!!! Be Blessed and have a great weekend!

Cat Food Recall

Just recieved this notice from my vet. Thought I would pass it on to any other cat lovers out there.

We wanted you to be aware of the following food recall from Nutro Products:
Franklin, Tennessee (May 21, 2009) -- Today, Nutro Products announced a voluntary recall of select varieties of NUTRO(R) NATURAL CHOICE(R) COMPLETE CARE(R) Dry Cat Foods and NUTRO(R) MAX(R) Cat Dry Foods with "Best If Used By Dates" between May 12, 2010 and August 22, 2010. The cat food is being voluntarily recalled in the United States and ten additional countries. This recall is due to incorrect levels of zinc and potassium in our finished product resulting from a production error by a US-based premix supplier. Two mineral premixes were affected. One premix contained excessive levels of zinc and under-supplemented potassium. The second premix under-supplemented potassium. Both zinc and potassium are essential nutrients for cats and are added as nutritional supplements to NUTRO(R) dry cat food. This issue was identified during an audit of our documentation from the supplier. An extensive review confirmed that only these two premixes were affected. This recall does not affect any NUTRO(R) dog food products, wet dog or cat food, or dog and cat treats. Affected product was distributed to retail customers in all 50 states, as well as to customers in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Israel. We are working with all of our distributors and retail customers, in both the US and internationally, to ensure that the recalled products are not on store shelves. These products should not be sold or distributed further. Consumers who have purchased affected product should immediately discontinue feeding the product to their cats, and switch to another product with a balanced nutritional profile. While we have received no consumer complaints related to this issue, cat owners should monitor their cat for symptoms, including a reduction in appetite or refusal of food, weight loss, vomiting or diarrhea. If your cat is experiencing health issues or is pregnant, please contact your veterinarian. Consumers who have purchased product affected by this voluntary recall should return it to their retailer for a full refund or exchange for another NUTRO(R) dry cat food product. Cat owners who have more questions about the recall should call 1-800-833-5330 between the hours 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST.Remember, this affects only NUTRO CAT food marked with the dates identified above. For more detailed product information, visit and click on "recall". Please direct any questions about the food to the 800# listed above.

Thankful Thursday - God's Ways

On the way to the imaging place today, I reflected on all the wonderful things the Lord does for us. He has blessed me in so many ways, I could never say thank you enough and find myself thanking Him more and more each day. Thank You Lord!

1) While driving to my appointment, for some stupid reason I found myself becoming apprehensive. I prayed and told Satan he's a liar, sited the Lords Prayer, and instantly felt calm. How great is that!

2) After that, I started to look around when my son mentioned the fact that the farmers are already reaping their crops, which is never seen this early in the year. Praise God for the much needed moisture this year to help out the struggling farmers. The fields are so green and lush!!! Especially for being a dessert area.

3) Then I thought about the beauty that surrounds us daily that He has provided us and for the beautiful sunshiny day.

4) I also thought about how thankful I am to be given another day here to learn, to grow, to become more faithful and to become closer to God. We can never be too thankful for that.

5) After the MRI--which I did have a couple of panic attacks at the time, but know one could tell--I was thankful that He answered me when I asked him to hold me and walk me through it all. As always, He was there and held me. What an awesome God. Thank You! Once it was done, I was thankful for being able to get through it without stopping. I was thankful the IV did not hurt at all, the nurse was awesome!!! I was thankful that the chemical put in me did not have any side affect at all!!! Praise the Lord!!!

6) On my way to my appointment I could feel the prayers of everyone, literally, which brought a smile to my face. Thank you so much!

7) On my way home, I looked around at the beauty and color of the trees, thought of a blog post I had recently read about being thankful for nature (sorry I don't remember which one it was) and agreed. God has hand painted a land for us that holds so much beauty no matter where we live. The majestic mountains, the many different trees with different colors, the array of flowers, bushes, etc. The animals, and all the other critters that fly and crawl. And yes, some of them creep some of us out, but if you really look at them, they still have a beauty about them. The wonders of all flying creatures. I could sit and watch the birds of prey as well as other birds for ours. (My goal, to become a photographer if and when I get the right equipment, by God's will) to capture their beauty some day. They are so graceful.

Psalms 121:1-2
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills--from whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Psalms 100:2-5
2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

2 Samuel 22:2-4
2 "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3 The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You same me from violence.
4 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.

Amazing Awards from Beautiful Friens/Sisters

NOTE: For those that had been told they recieved an award earlier I apologize. I've had fun trying to get this posted. A couple of blogs I tried to visit while making my list, had add ons that my computer retaliated against and shut me down. So here's my third attempt, and finally finished!!!
Also note there are two awards here.

I have been blessed with some of the best friends I have ever had through blogging. I'll never cease to be amazed with God's grace. He places the right people in our lives at the right time.

I can never say it enough that all the people I've met and had a chance to get to know have a special place in my heart. Each one of you have touched my heart in one way or another, and I thank you. It is hard for me to not pass each award on to everyone. But will stick with the rules. This award comes from sweet Valerie Lynn at Simply 4 God. What a beautiful heart she has for God and people. She is one of the warmest people and inspires me daily. She is a woman who's heart is for God first and is obviously a wonderul wife and mom. It's so obvious she loves her family. I'm thankful for the Lord bringing us together. What a blessing to have the opportunity to get to know people like Valerie Lynn. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sweetness and generosity. You have inspired me in so many ways Valerie Lynn and give me the drive to be kinder, more loving. Thank you and God Bless You. I love you so.

And then there's this beautiful award as well. You are my sunshine as well Tami! I'm so blessed. Thank you Lord! What beautiful people He puts in our lives. Tami at Diary of a Mad Woman makes her own awards and then awards them to everyone. What a sweet, loving way of showing someone you care. If any one can give me instructions on how to do this sort of thing, please share. You can e-mail me at There are so many people that I want to make s special award for, but don't know how. :( Yes Tami, I'm whining, sorry.

But not to take away from this, I love you so Tami. You are a remarkable woman who just brings sunshine in others lives including mine. You are a ray of sunshine, so this award is very befitting for you. You are a friend I feel like I've known all my life. I can't wait til the day we do sit over a McDonalds iced coffee. ;) , to meet your mom and your family. You are a beautiful woman whom I'm so thankful God led me to you. Thank you for your wonderful friendship. Love and Blessings to you sweet friend and sister.

So please everyone that may not have received this award yet, please take it and place it on your blog, as everyone in one way or another brings sunshine into my life.

For the Lovely Blog Award one must choose 10-15 people to share it with. This is the hardest part of the awards. But like Valerie Lynn, I'll stick with the rules and choose. (Crying and boo hooing now. ) So here goes, just remember, I feel you ALL deserve it.

2. Susie Q at Rabbit Run Cottage

3. Francesca at Three Bay B Chicks

8. RCubes at Off The Beaten Trek

9. Ya Ya at Ya Ya's Funhouse
11. Mamma Crafty at Mamma Crafty's Blogspot
12. Roberta at For His Glory
There are many others that I would love to add, but they do not accept awards; which I totally understand. Hopefully Jen will accept hers. :) Love you all! May God pour out His blessings upon you all.

Just to Say

Hello All!

Just letting you all know all is well here. Just been very hectic. Putting in long days and by the time I get home I'm in pain and just collapse on the couch. :( I've been so wanting to get on here. I haven't even checked my mail in the past few days. Mornings are hard to get up and get going as it's hard to sleep with toes that keep shooting pain through my feet, and a shoulder that keeps saying quit using me. Hee hee. But I'm not giving into the pain, and am working hard at getting used to it so I can still get on here.

I can honestly say, I've sooooo missed reading everyone's blogs. It's what keeps me smiling and cheerful and uplifted. You are all such a blessing! I could never begin to thank you all for all that you share. You each have such a unique personality and witty charming ways. There's also the charge of the Glory of the Lord that shines through and that is what really makes it all worthwhile.

Just a short prayer for all going through some, many or all of the same types of things. Lord you are so precious in our lives. You give us so much, and yet we are often not a thankful people. You deserve all the glory and praise! You are a loving, giving, caring God who is always there no matter what. Thank you Father for Your great kindness and love.
Father, please touch those that are hurting, those who are going in circles, give them a purpose and a clear mind to do the work you so desire us to do. Remove the enemy that keeps trying to tangle our minds and lead us back on the right path. We so desire to have you lead us and for us to faithfully follow. Father forgive us for those times we try to do it alone instead of putting our faith and trust in your hands. Heal the sick, the weary, the blind, the lame, the broken hearted, the lost, bring back to you. Guide us oh Heavenly Father. Thank you Father for Your greatness. I am believing in healing of many. I am believing in Your great healing of all those babies posted on my side bar and those posted on many other blogs. For only You can save them. Only You can make us all whole again.
Thank you Father. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!

Update: I am finally getting my MRI done this Thursday! Yeah. I have a good feeling about it. :O) I get my feet looked at on the 9th of June! Yeah! Hopefully will be back on track for the greater part of the summer. Am praying to be healed by the 4th of July as we are going to attend a Tea Party that day. Lot's of walking. It will be worth it. May the Lord shine upon each one of you and pour out His blessings on each of you beautiful friends/brothers & sisters.

Thankful Thursday

As always I am thankful for so many things. Mainly being a daughter of our Great Lord our God!

But I am also thankful for His cleansing, His giving us sight to see our wrong doings, for His forgiveness and love, for setting us on the right path once again.

I'm thankful my children, grandchildren, parents, sisters and their families, for my husband and his parents, brothers and sisters. For the love that is allowed to flow through our families for one another and not having the split families that don't get along.

I'm thankful for the nice weather coming, for the singing of the birds, the warm sun upon our faces, the gentle breezes, the color of green being more vibrant this year than normal and the colors of the flowers. For there being enough water from the snow melts and rains that we have finally received this year!

I'm thankful for my oldest grand daughter opening her heart and going up to the front of the church to receive God!!! I love his miracles and am so thankful for them.

I'm thankful to have read about one of the children being prayed for on my side bar coming through her heart surgery just fine. Of course still praying that she will recover fine. I'm thankful for doctors that are loving and caring enough to take the time to fix little ones and enduring the long hours and the intensity of operating on little ones.

I'm thankful for teachers that never give up and do their best to help children learn. I'm thankful my nephew T was honored for doing outstanding in Algebra when almost failing math class a couple of years ago. Yeah T's mom for helping him through his struggles. I'm thankful for parents that love, nourish and work with their children.

I'm thankful for books written that touch the heart and teach. I'm thankful for movies that opens ones eyes to see what is going on.

I'm thankful that the Lord took me to a T.V. program that I used to watch and haven't for a long time, "Law and Order" to receive a very much needed message. My mother and I were once so close when I was young, then one day something snapped in here and she's never been the same since. I always felt something wasn't right with her as well, my sisters thought the same. This particular episode let me see my mother all over again through someone else and helped me to understand and finally FULLY forgive her. I love you and am thankful for you mom. Thank you Jesus. What a relief and blessing that was.

Psalms 9:1-2

1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Diet Tips and Site

For all of you out there struggling with weight loss, finding ways to eat the stuff you love and stay healthy; Tami of Diary of a Mad Woman led me to the following site: Thank you Tami! This site is awesome! Dotti's Weight Loss Zone has so much information available. I was thrilled with the short time I was there with what I had found already. I can't wait for my next day off to research further.

Also, Tami had mentioned Trader Joes has semi-sweet dark chocolate that is cut to the daily intake for those chocolate lovers that want to lose but still have their "cake and eat it too" like me. ;) Dark chocolate has been proven to be beneficial in small quantities, to include a daily piece. So there you have it! Once again, thank you Tami.

Kim from Homesteaders Heart had made a great point as well. To cut out everything you like is asking for trouble. Believe me, I know, as I've done it before and it is too easy to fall off the band wagon that way. Treating yourself once a week will not hurt you, and remember though, do it in a small quantity. It doesn't mean we can engourge ourselves. Which I have done in the past. It's not worth it. It's not healthy. Thank you Kim for the great reminder.

Plus there are a lot of great snacks that taste sweet and "fattening" but aren't. The important thing is to read the labels and know how to read them. There are great sites out there that will teach you if you aren't sure.

After all, we are suppose to be taking care of His temples. I've done poorly, but am thankful He is so loving and forgiving when we are sincere. Which reminds me. I'm working on a post that just has worked wonders for me and hope that you will like it as well.

I had written in the comments section but decided to put it here as well. I will be visiting and posting again soon on a regular basis. I had some issues to work on and get myself on track so as to cut out a lot of the stress. Very important when you are facing possible heart problems.

May the Lord continue to bless you all and fill your hearts with joy and love. You are all the best!!!

We Are Blessed!

Washing Clothes Recipe
Never thought of a "washer" in this light before..what a blessing!'
Washing Clothes Recipe' -- imagine having a recipe for this ! ! !

Years ago an Alabama grandmother gave the new bride the following recipe:
This is an exact copy as written and found in an old scrapbook -
with spelling errors and all.
Build fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water.
Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.
Shave one hole cake of lie soap in boilin water.
Sort things, make 3 piles1 pile white,1 pile colored,1 pile work britches and rags.

To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with boiling water.
Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and boil,
then rub colored don't boil just wrench and starch.
Take things out of kettle with broom stick handle, then wrench, and starch.
Hang old rags on fence.
Spread tea towels on grass.
Pore wrench water in flower bed.
Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
Turn tubs upside down.
Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs.
Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.
Paste this over your washer and dryer
Next time when you think things are bleak,
read it again, kiss that washing machine and dryer, and give thanks.
First thing each morning you should run and hug your washer and dryer, also your toilet
---those two-holers used to get mighty cold!
For you non-southerners -wrench means rinse. ;)
Couldn't resist sharing this one. Really makes one realize just how lucky we are. There are people that still wash their clothes this way too. I remember my mother doing this very thing. What a pain in the rear it was too.

Wake Up Call

I have not been on as I'm sure you've noticed and apologize, even though I know I don't need to with all you wonderful loving, understanding friends. I guess you could say I went through a pity party. Yes, I know, pathetic. I recieved a wake up call Tuesday telling me that my cholesterol is high and had to go on medication for it. At first I thought, okay. The Good Lord is telling me it's time to wake up and smell the roses, you need to take better care of yourself. Then thoughts set in. My grandfather had died from hardening of the arteries, a massive heart attack, and Alzhiemers. My dad has already had stints put in and has high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetic. His mom and dad were both diabetics, with an aunt that was very diabetic. My mom's mom suffered from strokes, and I'm sure she has had them as well but won't get tested.

So I "dwelled" on all this and became angry with myself for letting myself get like this, thinking I would be the odds and ignoring all the "early" warning signs. Then thought about my family and what it's doing to them. Then came the "poor me" garbage. Oh no, now I can't eat this and that. I can't enjoy the foods I'm used to. After 48 years of bad eating habits, it's going to be hard to change. Wah wah wah.

Then I thought, what am I doing. How pathetic is this. This is my chance to do what I've battled to do over and over and over again for years. This is my chance to do things the healthy way and "stay" there!!! I went and had my hair cut. (Jay had given me a gift certificat for mother's day) and decided to pamper myself for a change. I usually cut my own hair. Then off to barns and noble and bought a couple of cookbooks. One being the American Heart Associations "Low Fat, Low Cholesterol cookbook," and the other "Sensational Salads." When I browsed through these books, I realized that many of the favorites were in there, just prepared in a much healthier manner.

Now I realize that over all, I've been cooking healthy for the most part. It's all the other "stuff" I was doing. Sweets, oh yeah, gotta have that CHOCOLATE! :{ Fast food, hard to avoid for some stupid reason. Thurs. when going to get the books, we passed these different places and it was like saying good bye to some good friends. (Shaking head in disgust with myself). Now, I'm excited!!! I can let go of the bad habits and bring in the good!

But anyhoo, I became depressed and didn't really want to do anything, but one good thing came out of it. I finally got back to listening to pod casts and getting in the Word. Forgive me Father for being such a whimp! Thank You for lifting me back up. Thank You for giving me a second chance! May this story give others hope if they are experiencing weight problems and/or poor eating habits. Amen!

Oh yeah, still no MRI. I'm going to give my doctor a call on Monday and ask to see a Neurologist first, as the feet are getting worse, and he/she can deal with the possible strokes (TIA's) as well. While looking this stuff up, I have had all the symptoms. God is good! He could have had me go through a full blown stroke; but instead gave me warning signs. Thank You Lord!!!

My dear friend Tami at Diary of a Mad Woman has given another award. I don't know where to begin, as I'm am greatly humbled by this. The kind words you spoke reminded me of you Tami. I am so thankful the Lord brought us together. The award is beautiful. Tami is a wonderful woman with a beautiful personality. I love how she can take something not so great and turn it into something that is sure to make you laugh. Now that is a gift!!! She shows kindness always. Cares about what is happening to you. A true sister in Christ. A true friend that is often hard to find. I know without a doubt in my heart, our friendship will always be. Thank you Lord! If I could, I would give this award right back to you Tami as you are every bit deserving of it. And to Valerie Lynn as well.

Now, I want to give this award to Hon for one at God is Our Love. I've known her from the beginning and she's been there through thick and thin. Also to Heather at Simply Heather. Heather is every bit of what I think of a true Christian woman to be. She's a breath of fresh air. And Denise at Shorty Bears, who is always there to pick you up, to give encouraging words, who always has something positive to say.

Now I want you all to know that you are all fantastic in every bit of the way. I would like to award everyone. Hon and Heather are two that have really touched my life and have known them from the start. They are awesome friends and sisters in Christ.

Tami has no rules with her awards, which is very nice. But she does ask that you find someone to share it with. I share it with all of you, as you have all touched my life in one way or another. I'm grateful to the Lord for the beautiful friendships that form here and for all our brothers and sisters in Christ. God Bless.

And once again, Thank You Tami for your sweet, kind, caring ways. {{{Big Hugs}}}, Lots of love and blessings to you.

Gathering at the Well

Today's subject at Gathering at the Well has to do with spiritual closets. The question we are dealing with is: "Do you have a favorite "spiritual place" in your home? Is it a room? a closet? maybe a chair?"

You know, I never knew what a spiritual closet was until about a year ago. I don't know if anyone else had experienced this before, but when I thought of spiritual closet, I thought they literally meant a closet. I thought, hmmmm, what closet am I going to be able to sit and pray in for about an hour. I just could not for see that happening. So I thought, great, now what do I do. Are we suppose to squeeze into a closet and pray in discomfort, or where you will be found and pestered?
You see, I grew up a Catholic. When I was there I never heard about prayer closets, receiving the Holy Spirit, non of what I know now. I'm not condemning the Catholic denomination by any means. I loved it, and I still have a desire to visit a couple of the Catholic buildings some day. I will never let go of my heritage, as my grandmother, God rest here soul, brought me to the Catholic church, and I grew there. Because of her planting those foundations in my life, I am now back with our Precious Lord!
So now I know what a prayer closet is. It's a place where you find it most comforting, quiet, and place to talk to privately and wait upon Him. I have that very special place. A place where I feel closer to Him and am able to hear Him. It's the place where I first came back to Him and where I first experienced His presence. As a child, I never felt His presence until then. Now I do often and it's the most beautiful experience. Oh Lord how I love you.
My special place is in our bonus room. This is where hubby came to the Lord and Jay and I returned to Him. This is where we studied "The Purpose Driven Life" and came to know who Christ really is. This is the place I sat one night in the dark praying and praying and felt his hands on my shoulders for the first time and I rested my head against Him. I have never felt so at peace. I wept for joy that I finally was in the presence of the Lord Almighty. Wow!!! I'll never forget it. This is where that same night while praying, He knelt before me and held my hands in His might hands. How gracious is our Lord!!!
So during times of trials and tribulations this is where I go. During times of hurt, pain, and frustration this is where I go. Otherwise, my prayers are said in the early mornings in my computer chair sitting in our computer room. I love just sitting praying, talking to Him and at times being answered. It's a great place as well, but the ultimate place where I can really feel His presence is upstairs. I feel closer to Him. I feel He is there waiting for me to come to Him. I plan on making it a daily routine to just pray up there every morning.
Praise God for all His glory, graciousness, and most importantly His love!!! To be like Him is the ultimate goal. To love people like He loves us. To be so forgiving like He is with us. Thank You Father God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit for all you do in my life. I love you so. I'll praise you in the morning, the afternoon, the evening, in the springtime and the winter, summer and fall, all the days of my life, as You are the Alpha and Omega, the Father of all!
May God pour out His blessings upon each of you. Make a ripple and watch it grow and grow and grow. And remember to always P.U.S.H.! God Bless you all!

Awesome Lesson on Love

NOTE: I fixed the link. I'll learn to check the spelling someday. ;) Also, I just went to the site and realized they have changed the look again. On the right side, there is a box that has the sermons. Click on Ken Wilde, Christ Follower #2 for the lesson taught yesterday.

I just wanted to share with you all about a great, wonderful, beautiful lesson that was taught today. The way the Lord works through our Pastor and his family never ceases to amaze me. Today Pastor Ken talked on the true meaning of love. How it has gotten lost over the years.

I was so moved today. What he had to say was so true. And you know, I left there feeling full of love and joy and today was one of the best days I've had in a long time. I've been able to let go of some of the ugliness in the past and recent times. Despite the pain I was in today, the day was beautiful.

God does that to us. He can place such beauty in our hearts when we ask Him to. He can full us with so much joy when we open our hearts to him and let go of the ugliness in us. God is love. He loves us unconditionally. This is how we should love as well.

So, go to click on listen/watch. You can either click to just listen or click to watch and listen. I really believe you will not be disappointed on this one. At the end, he tells a great story. One I've heard a few times before, but will never tire of. It makes you think. God Bless and have a beautiful wondrous week!!!

Fitness Friday

Our assignment for today is to list what we do when we can not get to the gym or use our equipment at home, and to list our goals for next week only, not our long term goals. So here goes.
For now I am not allowed to use exercise equipment until I have the MRI and get the results back. Thankfully I find ways anyhow. ;) I've learned that if you move around the house quickly, often doing housework, you can work up a sweat and get that heart rate up some. Nothing like exercising of course. We do have stairs that I'm to avoid as much as possible but try to go up and down those at least once quickly. It's been working. I feel where there is a will, there is a way. We can always find some little thing to do that is beneficial.
This week went great until yesterday. :{ Darn it. My son just had to bring home a "big" bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. They are one of my weeknesses. Of course it's my own fault, as I joked around when they went to the store to pick some up. (blushing). So I told him that it's my mother's day gift so I can put 6 more inches around my waist. Of course hubby grimaced at this. I was joking of course. I just need to be strong.
Okay assignment 2. My goal for next week is to keep a positive attitude. Find what ever I can to keep myself moving quickly as often as possible. To really watch the food intake especially since I'm limited to activity. The biggest thing is to stay away from "FAST FOOD!" I have a habit of stopping there (too convenient) when out and about and I get hungry. This habit can set one back rather quickly. Bad Bad girl! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to beat this habit?
And last but not least, to keep a positive I can do this attitude. Anyone have any good ideas on how to do this too? J/K I'm trying.
Good luck everyone. I wish everyone continued success, and for those of us that have those week moments we can get back on track and not allow ourselves to get discouraged. I love this as we can support one another.

Friday's Commenter Recognition

This will be the last week that I do this. I have to admit it is stressful trying to decide who to recognize, as there are so many that deserve this recognition every week. So to be fair, I will end this with one more person that I really feel needs to be recognized. But know that you are all winners!

Mom Blogs

Lauren Anne of Beside Quiet Waters is this weeks recipient. She is an amazing young lady that has really touched my heart. She's a young teenage girl that has a strong love for the Lord with so many inspirations. Visit her blog if you haven't already and I believe you will feel blessed as well. She always has kind words for everyone. We can learn a lot from our youth when they are filled with the Holy Spirit in the way she is. God Bless you Lauren Anne. May your Faith continue to grow. You are a blessing sweet sister and friend.

I also want to say thank you to those new to here. I'm so happy to have met you all. It's amazing and wonderful how friendships grow through here and how we help one another. God is Good All the time and All the time, God is Good!

By the way, Lauren is having a give away at her blog. You can find her button for it on my side bar the 4th one down. Thank you Lauren!

Update on MRI

Thank you Denise for reminding me. I can be so forgetful. :{ I thank you all for your prayers. It means so much. The MRI didn't take place yet. The wrong codes were submitted to my insurance so we are trying for next Wed. I'm praying it happens this time, as it would be nice to know what is going on. Finally did get in to get the blood work done and hopefully will hear back on that soon.

It is so nice to be at peace with all that is going on though. The old me in the flesh/world would have been a wreck by now. ;0} I just feel that He is walking with me right now, and all will be fine. Granted it is frustrating when you are told we can't find anything and have no idea what is going on, as then you start wondering if you are losing it. (Little sis and I joke about this often).

What really helps is having so much support by all of you. You have been amazing with you show of thoughtfulness, love, and prayers. He's there listening, answering and carrying. The Love for Him is such a wonderful feeling and the overflow affect that allows us to carry that powerful love onto others.

Blessings and love to all of you beautiful wonderful people. All will be fine, am believing in that!

Remember to P.U.S.H. and to make a ripple effect to grow and grow and then sit back and watch it happen!!!

More Revelations!!!

I hope you all don't get tired of testimonies to God's love. Personally, I could listen to them all the time. I love hearing of God's greatness, even when it's not the greatest. But thought I would share a few more of God's wonderful steps in others lives.

For starters, I've talked about my little sister getting custody of her to young grand daughters and how she had injured her back and was suppose to have surgery. Because of all the problems she is having, her husbands niece has come to stay with them for the summer to help. My sister probably won't have surgery now, (big mess), and may not be able to go back to work. But let me tell you, God had a purpose by sending their niece there.

Yesterday K was in her room crying in the morning. Sis went to check on her and she was doubled up talking incoherently in pain. At first sis thought she might be on drugs as her eyes were all glassed over. So they got her in the car, got a hold of our dad and he drove the two of them in. All types of tests were ran, to include a drug test. She came back clean.

They are not for sure what is wrong, but assume from her throwing up all the time, she has ulcers. Further more, they found out that she has anxiety attacks. They were in the ER for 8 hours as there was a problem with tracking her medical records, which it took the doctor to get on the phone to have success and it took forever for sis and hubby to reach family.

This poor girl has been living with her grandparents since she was little. Grandpa was the one to care for her, went to all school functions, doctor, dentist checkups, teacher conferences, you name it. Apparently being away from grandpa for the first time became overwhelming for her, as the grand parents just left that morning.

K has been suffering severe stomach pain for two years!!! She was suppose to have had an upper GI done and it never happened. If anyone will make sure this girl is taken care of, my sister will. She would give the shirt off her back to someone in great need. They are suffering from her not working and him being laid off, not to mention all the medical bills, and having two of her sons living there. But God willing, they have been getting through it all and she's standing strong.

Coincidence that K ends up there? Coincidence that all this has been happening, even though it seems unfair that someone as loving as sis would have to go through this? I don't think so. It's all in the workings of the Lord. Sis is in pain, but dealing with it and taking care of the little ones with help. Now K will have someone to take care of her too.

Another was on the news. I didn't catch where this little boy was, and you all may have heard it. The little three year old boy that had wondered off in the woods. Thank the Lord he was eventually found with just a few scrapes. I had shivers run through my body as I praised the Lord for taking care of that little boy. A three year old; think about that out in the wilderness. Yes, the Good Lord was with that little boy! :)

One more. I had talked about my oldest grandson trying to follow in daddy's footsteps and being a non-believer. It used to drive me nuts driving the boys a half an hour away to school then rush back to take my oldest grand daughter to her school. But now I know why it happened and am thankful for the opportunity. I've learned a very important lesson through all this. "Always" look for the positive side in situations. It's there, you just have to look.

With the traveling back and fourth, R has started asking a lot of questions about God. He is hungry and thirsty for the knowledge!!! At first it was a so-so ordeal. Now he is more serious and wants to know more and more. The other day he said, "You know Omah, I've been thinking about what we've talked about and I'm trying really hard to get my dad to believe." (Sitting here tearing up with joy just thinking about it). Let the little children come to Him. I am so elated!

Curiosity brought R on the path to God and now perhaps with persuasion and seeing how serious his favorite son feels he too will come to know the Lord!!! I keep praying that something soon will change. Our daughter has been talking to our son and we are praying she will come back.

Praise God for all His glorious workings!!! It's by His time and His will be done. I have the faith that many more are going to be saved. A friend and I were just talking today about how many are struggling and feeling like everything around them is closing in. The battle is on, but we both stood in agreement that God is stronger than the enemy and He will prevail. We just have to hold strong to our Faith.

Make a ripple and watch it grow and grow and grow. All the Glory is for God. May He pour out many blessings upon each of you. I'm so happy to see that the list of brothers and sisters continues to grow. The friendships He's helping us form is glorious. Thank you Father for all the wonderful people you lead us to.

What's On the Other Side?

I received this in an e-mail post today and just had to post it. I was so touched and blessed by it. I hope you all find it that way as well.

What a Wonderful Way to Explain it!

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to
Leave the examination room and said,
'Doctor, I am afraid to die.
Tell me what lies on the other side.
' Very quietly, the doctor said, 'I don't know.'
'You don't know? You're, a Christian man,
And don't know what's on the other side?'
The doctor was holding the handle of the door;
On the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,
And as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room
And leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
'Did you notice my dog?
He's never been in this room before.
He didn't know what was inside.
He knew nothing except that his master was here,
And when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side of death,
But I do know one thing...
I know my Master is there and that is enough.'

May today there be peace within you.

May you trust God that you are exactly

Where you are meant to be.

Faith and Trust: Part III

Now that things have settled down, I will work on finishing this subject.
Note: For those that may be new to this or have not noticed, I italicize the words Faith and Trust. They are not that way in the Bible; I've just chosen to do that to highlight where those words are found.

Jesus Pictures, Images and Photos

Matthew 8:5-13 (NIV)

5 When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.
6 "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering."
7 Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him."
8 The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
10 When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.

Imagine if we all had this kind of Faith! That is something I learned during group this last week. That until we have the Faith for God to work in our lives and answer our prayers, those we are praying for; we must let go of any ill feelings, judgments we hold on them, frustrations, or even anger. For until we place our full Trust in God, our prayers can not be answered. This makes perfect sense.

1 Chronicles 5:20 (NIV)

20 They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.

Because they Trusted Him, He helped them, He answered their cries.

Matthew 9:20-22 (NIV)

20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
21 She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."
22 Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

"Your Faith has healed you." I truly believe that those who have that kind of Faith will be healed, He will answer, He will answer!

Psalms 4:5 (NIV)

5 Offer right sacrifices
and trust in the LORD.

This basically goes back to my comments on the first one. Trust in Him!

Psalms 5:11 (NIV)

11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

One may say, "Well where's the word Faith or Trust in this one?" Neither is there, but if you think about it, "all who take refuge in you" is talking about this very thing. For those who Trust in you; this is what that very verse is saying.

WalkonWater Pictures, Images and Photos
click on the pic to view the whole picture which shows Jesus walking on the water.

Matthew 14:25-33 (NIV)

25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Why did they not trust Him in the first place. Why did they not have complete Faith in the Lord. Too many of us forget to place our full trust in Him at times. I'm guilty of that. I want nothing more than to completely have Faith and Trust at all times. But during those trials and frustrations, I tend to let my guard down. Although I am improving and working hard on that.

Matthew 15:22-28 (NIV)

22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."
24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."
25 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said.
26 He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
27 "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
28 Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

The disciples were ready to throw the woman out rather than listen to her requests and try to help. Do we ever do that? I know I do. I try hard not to now. But notice what Jesus tells His disciples; "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." Her request was granted because of her great Faith!!!
Just think about what God will do in our lives if our Faith and Trust in Him is strong!

Remember though, no matter how strong our Faith in Trust in Him does not mean we will not go through our trials and tribulations. We are always a work in progress. He uses those times, (seasons), in our lives to shape us and mold us into what He wants us to be.

Jesus Pictures, Images and Photos

Psalms 18:2 (NIV)

2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Again the words Faith or Trust are not in this, but once again, here are the words, "in whom I take refuge." Meaning, "in whom I Trust." I so love the book of Psalms.

And so I will end here today. Tomorrow I will leave you with more Scriptures on this subject, just the book and the v(s). With trivia about the subjects. God Bless and may you all have a wonderfully relaxed and beautiful Sunday.

Relax Sunday

I was going to do something totally different with this today until I read hon's post at God is Our Love. This is when I realize God is pretty much demanding that we get this word spread around amongst all Christians.
What is the best way to lead people to the Lord?
That is easy, but we often forget and give off a false message.
The best way to lead people to the Lord is by "Our" actions. The way we behave, treat others, act in public etc. is what people look at. If they see loving individuals that are kind, caring, loving, show compassion and all those good things, they are going to say, "Wow! Why are they so different?" Chances are, you will be approached and asked how you do it. Or they will know and tell you they want to get to know your God! There's the open doors.
So when we are out and about, look for ways to show kindness. Our Pastor's wife, Pastor Connie is one who leads by example. She loves to meet as many people as possible and strike up a conversation. If she sees someone who seems to be down, having a bad idea, what ever the situation will try to strike up a conversation and show compassion in hopes to help them out. Her goal is to have them relaxed and smiling by the time she leaves. How awesome is that?
This is exactly what we need to be doing. It catches on. It makes people wonder. A show of kindness can be done in so many ways. So what I'm asking for is come Monday to leave one suggestion or a list of suggestions/ideas that are acts of kindness that we can all be doing. I will do the same. I don't know how to do the linky thing, so leave me a message here that you are going to do this, then I will link you to the post.
Let's make a difference and lead the lost to our Awesome God!!! God Bless and may you all have a glorious, peaceful, relaxing Sunday!

Friday's Funnies: Installing a Husband

Note: Please be sure to read the next post. Thank you!

Installing a Husband
I thought this was too cute not to share. ;) Hope you all get a good chuckle out of it.
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance --
particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as AFL 5.0, The Ashes 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no! avail.
What can I do?
Signed, Desperate
Dear Desperate:
First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.
Please enter the command: "http: I Thought You Loved Me.html" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5,Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1..0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.
We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck, Tech Support

Fitness Friday

The assignment for today was to post a pic(s) of where you exercise. Well, due to craziness, doctors appts. etc. it never did get done. So next week I hope to add on to this. I had started riding our stationary bike and doing some exercises I had found in a mag. that are good toning exercises, you know the kind, that work on those flabby underarms that looks like you are trying to grow wings to fly (blushing). The ones that work on the roles on your sides that just seem like they are never going to disappear. The ones that work on the thunder thighs. *sigh* But, I have to be careful for now until I have my MRI on the 6th to find out what is going on with my head and neck. And get the blood tests done to find out if I have hardening of the arteries or plack build up that is affecting my circulation.

But I have confidence that all is going to go well and I'll get back to exercising the way I need to real soon. A positive attitude can go a long way!!! First of all I need to lose 90lbs. to be where I would like to be; but 70lbs. will put me where I should be. Yes, that is a lot. It's going to happen though. I'm not about to give up.

So for the mental picture of where I work out: I ride a recumbent bike in our bonus room nesxt to a large window that I am able to look out of at the mountains in the distance, at part of a golf course a short ways away, and of course the neighborhood. Ilove it when I can sit up there and watch the sun come up. I also have a T.V. available if I wish, but have yet to use it. I usually listen to my I-pod listening to upbeat worship music. I then stretch up there and go down stairs to the bedroom where I continue to do stretches and strengthening, using an exercise ball. I will eventually add weights to these exercises/toning/stretching that I do for a short period.

The toning/strengthening that I'm doing involves the stomach, abs, arms (most areas), and the waist/side, with a little bit on the legs. Normally my goal would be to add walking again, but that is not going to happen. I might also add, I do not weigh myself any more. That is a promise I made to the Lord and keep it in my main Bible. Instead, I measure, which I have yet to do. ;) But my clothes are hanging on me, so that's a good sign!!!

I wish you all continued success! Remember, if you fall back, pick yourself up, and keep on going. It's normal to have those moments in our lives. Don't give up. I know you can do it, otherwise we would not be doing this. Focus on keeping a positive attitude and you will be suprised, and I will work hard on doing the same thing. :) Here's to a better new us!!!
