Pharaohs Hardened Heart

I was just reading some Life Principles, About the Bible, and Life Examples from Charles Stanley's Life Principles Bible, and came across a subject that seemed like a good subject to post about.

The subject is of Pharaoh and his hardened heart. How many times did God give him a chance to do the right thing, and each time Pharaoh said no? The same goes for us. Each time we tell God no when He asks something of us, we are taking chances. Our hearts become a little more hardened each time.

Is this what we want to have happen? Do you often tell God no or ignore His requests? It's a form of rebellious behavior. Think of how you feel when you ask your child, an employee, a friend, or family member to do something and they repeatedly say no. It becomes frustrating.

It's the same with our Heavenly Father. The more we say no, the more we shut Him out. Eventually our hearts can become hardened like Pharaohs which most likely is going to lead to destruction.

It's simple really. All we have to do is follow His commands, listen for His small voice, take His lead, follow Him. Even though we are of the world, surrounded by worldly things, and are of the flesh, we can fight off temptations, we can walk forward, focusing on Jesus, and remain on that right path to eternal life.

Are we going to struggle? Of course we will. Life isn't suppose to be simple. He makes it a struggle sometimes to wake us up, to teach us, to draw us nearer to Him, and to make us Christ like. It's not an easy road, but we can do it. The simple part is knowing the instructions.

And remember, we gather our most strength when we are on our knees!

This is so well said, Tammy and true. I've written the same message in bits & pieces of different blogs over the last few years. You've put it simply and profoundly and it's so true.

There are a few women friends of mine that tend to play games with emotions...hardening their hearts to their friends and to God because they don't like the sting of growth but hopefully they're learning....I'm praying ;o).

By the way...this background really looks good full screen. I don't check them all out - I know they'll fit. I really appreciate that you use them...it's nice to see them (I've said that before).

Are there any specific's you might like for a background? Like special colors, flowers, designs? I could customize one for you a little...they are so much fun to make.

Have a beautiful day, my friend and sister.

Hi Heather, you have written some good information on this very subject. You have a wonderful way of writing.

I pray your friends will come around as well. It's hard to watch people do this very thing, but a womans nature is to be so darned competitive that they miss the beauty of loving one another.

As for the back grounds. I love what you do. You have made so many unique ones. I'll have to think on that offer. I would love for you to design one for me. I'm not good with this sort of thing, so if I come up with something, I'll let you know. Thank you. I would give anything to know how to do this kind of thing. I so wanted to get into web design, but understanding the lingo is hard for me. :( Guess He has other plans for me. ;)
Hope your week has been going well, and the rest of the week is wonderful for you.
