God's Promises: Monday

Belief; Faith; Mercy; Worship; Prayer; Guidance; Fruitfulness; Holy Spirit; Salvation; and Peace. CBS Version.

Belief: Romans 9:33: "As it is written: Look! I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over, and a rock to trip over, yet the one who believes on Him will not be put to shame."

Faith: James 1:5-6: "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be give to him. 6 But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind."

The ones who do not believe are given plenty to deal with. This is the Lords way of trying to shake them up and bring them to Him. But if they do not heed, they will receive more and more disruption in their lives. This comes from experience in my own life.

Mercy: Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him."

He is a compassionate Father without a doubt. He has such great love for us all.

Worship: Psalm 99:9: "Exalt in the Lord our God; bow in worship at His holy mountain, for the Lord our God is holy."

He is Holy, He is Holy, He is Holy, our God!

Prayer: Isaiah 30:19: "For you people will live on Zion in Jerusalem and will never cry again. He will show favor to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He will answer you."

Yes, the Lord answers our prayers faithfully. Maybe not in the way we want, but He does answer them. We just need to be patient and wait on Him, as it's by His timing.

Guidance: Proverbs 16:9: "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps."

This is true. Without the Lord's guidance, we set ourselves up for stumbling often. We can't go it alone. With the Lord, life is much, much better. Without Him, there is much, much sadness and frustration.

Fruitfulness: Jeremiah 31:12: "They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will be radiant with joy because of the Lord's goodness, because of the grain, the new wine, the fresh oil, and because of the young of the flocks and herds. Their life will be like an irrigated garden, and they will no longer grow weak [from hunger].

Isn't this great!

Holy Spirit: John 7:38-39: "The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.' 39 He said this about the Spirit, whom those who do believe in Him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been received, because Jesus had not yet been glorified."

Being filled with the Holy Spirit is a beautiful thing when we listen to Him.

Salvation: 2 Corinthians 5:21: "He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

What a sacrifice God and Jesus made. All to save us from our sins. If that isn't a profession of love, I don't know what is. This morning, I was woken at 3, and finally gave in and got up at 3:30 am. I was sitting praying by my computer after I turned it on. The screensaver came up and He spoke and said, "look at your screen." There was Jesus in the clouds with His arms outstretched and it said, "How much do I love you? And He spread His arms and died on the cross for us." Hmmm, that is a lot of love.

Peace: Psalm 85:8: "I will listen to what God will say; surely the Lord will declare peace to His people, His godly ones, and not let them go back to foolish ways."

When we follow the Lord, we do not have to worry about being foolish. When we let ourselves slip away from Him, we set ourselves up for embarrassment.
