Today's subjects will talk about God's Correction; God's Faithfulness; Forgiveness; God's Love; Loving God; God's Protection; Word of God; Grow in Grace; Eternal Life; Seeking God. All from the NKJV.
God's Correction: Proverbs 3:12: "For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as the father the son in who he delights."
The Lord is just like our earthly fathers, He corrects us when we do wrong. The difference between the Lord and our earthly fathers, is some fathers are not loving, some do not care, some are part time. The Lord is loving, cares, and is full time all the time. He never let's us go unattended. His corrections are gentle and loving, never harsh.
God's Faithfulness: Deuternonomy 7:9: "Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments."
Isn't that a comfort to know. He will never forsake us. He loves us always. He is always there for us!
God's written word is a promise for obeying.
Forgiveness: Matthew 5:44-45: "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless thsoe who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
We are to model ourselves after Christ, so why is it so hard for some of us to forgive others? Holding onto animosity, anger, discontenment, etc. only causes more grief, allows the enemy in, and puts a block against any chance of keeping a close relationship with the person(s) one is unable to forgive.
God's Love: John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
This is God's promise through Christ for salvation. Ahhh, everlasting life! What a great promise this is.
Loving God: Deuteronomy 7:9: This is the same as God's faithfulness.
God's Protection: Proverbs 18:10: "The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe."
Yes, He does protect us when we let Him. We can draw our strength in Him as well. He is our strong tower, as the enemy can not win if we believe. He is much stronger! Amen!
Word of God: Roman's 1:16: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for teh Greek."
God doesn't care who we are, what color, what creed, sex, nationality, etc.; He loves us all!
Growth in Grace: John 15:8: "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you wll be My disciples."
As we do as the Lord says, we follow and bear much fruit, we become His dicisples. So the more people brought to Him, the better for all!
Eternal Life: John 6:47: "Most assuredly, I say to you , he who believes in Me has everlasting life."
Isn't it amazing; all one has to do is believe in Him and we have eternal life. But...one must follow what the Lord has planned for them. It takes more than just believing. You must live righteously as well.
Seeking God: 2 Chronicles 15: 2: "So he went out to meet Asa and said to him, 'Asa and all Judah and Benjamin, hear me. The LORD is with you when you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you abandon Him, He will abandon you."
As long as we believe in Him, and seek Him, He is there for us. Seek and you shall find.
