Luke 11:11-13 NKJV
11"What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
Our Pastor spoke of this today. How often do we not think about all that He has to offer. It's quite simple actually. All we have to do is follow His words. All we have to do when in need is to ASK.
Pastor Ken also spoke about prayer. About how many actually know how to pray. Getting intimate with our Father is okay. It is okay to call Him daddy. As Pastor Ken said, a majority of people when we talk to our dads don't call them Father; it's usually daddy or dad. Do we pray from the heart or do we make it this all out formal deal? It's important to remember that God knows our hearts, so why not just be ourselves and talk to Him.
I have to admit, I always worried about how I prayed. I thought it had to be certian words used, you had to be able to quote scriptures, you had to know the Bible inside out. But it doesn't need to be some intricate all out mini book.
Prayer is so important. We should be doing it often. Along with prayer;listening for His voice. Listen to what He places on our hearts. Our Dad is a an all caring wonderful God that is always there for us. How good is that?

Last night I was reading through Luke and these verses really grabbed my attention too. It's amazing... God is more willing to give us his Holy Spirit - if we just ask for it - than we are willing to give good gifts to our children. This is wonderful news for all who desire Him!
It is amazing how He leads many of us in the same direction at the same time.
It is amazing how giving He is to us. All we have to do is ask. We can give to our children the best we possibly can, but it will always pale in comparison to our Father's giving ways.

Oh I remember a story that my sister told me. In their prayer meeting once, my sister was asked by her friend to pray with her friend's younger sister. As the young girl started to pray, she simply said, "Daddy God, please protect us. Daddy God, please bless us..." The prayer goes on. I do not know the whole prayer. hehehe! And it was in Tagalog, too (I translated it for you). hehehe! Anyway, my sister was ministered by this young girl unknowingly because of the innocence she has in her prayers. Knowing that our FATHER is not distant from us. By this story, I was ministered as well. And I was given the chance to meet the young girl. It was rather sudden and quick though. hehehe! She is around 16, I guess (can't remember). And I used this story to my youths.
Also, our pastor said something about how people usually say, "The One from above" so our pastor said, "The One from above, HE's my FATHER/DAD." Okay sorry for the / in there because I had to translate it again. hahaha! It was in Tagalog.

They are new every morning, as it is written. New lessons everyday and I honestly learned from this again. You said it well dear friend. I honestly do not mind your comments at all, no matter how long they may be. I leave some like that as well. There are times that it just touches us and we have so much to share. That's a good thing, and one of the reasons for this blog is to share thoughts!
Isn't it cool how some can just let them selves relax completely in the Lord and use daddy. We had a man that had attended our church, but had to move due to employment opportunities. Our Pastor said that whenever he prayed he always used daddy. Pastor said it was the neatest thing to listen to. I use it much more now, and it feels natural and good. :)
