Opinions Requested

I'm asking for all of you to comment on whether you feel it is in bad taste to have a representative picture of Jesus on my side bar. I know we don't know what He looks like. Many of us, and even some Bibles including the originals have pictures used to show examples of Jesus. I'ts not intended as an idol, to say this is what He looks like or anything like that. But if any others find it offensive and any other pictures I've used, please let me know.

You all know my heart for the Lord, and know that I would never intentionally deface His great name. I do however appreciate the fact that someone commented that to call the top side bar picture of Jesus a portrait of Him was not the right thing to place on there and have therefore removed that title. Thank you all! Blessings through Him to all of you!!!

Hey, who's blog is this? The pictures of Jesus created by us, share the beauty of Him as we envision Him to be. They are not created to be an "idol" image - of course, you must know how I would feel about it, right?

There are finger-pointers EVERYWHERE we go and unfortunately, even through brothers and sisters in Christ. You follow your heart - not words of men. Follow The Holy Spirit within YOU and not the words of man, right?

There are times when I've even seen brothers and sisters become a stumbling block, a wall put up in front of unbeliever's in their style of trying to catch the fish...almost as Peter cut off the soldier's ear.

Don't you worry about how you present your love for our Lord, He'll let you know if your heart is not in the right place.

I get steamed when people challenge us - if they have a problem here with a portrait of the image of Christ, they're going to knit-pick at other things as well...like chickens in a coop. We cannot please the world, wonderful you. Don't you forget that...and there were people that Jesus didn't even reach while He was here. Some that He even walked on pass - He knew their heart. He knows yours...You show your love for Him, Sister.

♥ Heather

Thank you Veronica. Yes Tami is! I too am glad she brought us together.

Thank you Heather. I started to think about it, and the Lord told me to pray for the person, as they seem to be struggling. So I am putting it back up, as that is what felt right. I really needed that Heather. Thank you! You are such a great friend and love you much!

Tammy,

I also find NOTHING wrong with having our beautiful Jesus's picture on your side bar. He would find NOTHING wrong with it either! Actually, this picture is what I remember growing up and ooh how it brings fond memories. Sure, maybe he doesn't look like that, but this is how we think he does. Does it matter the photo? or does it matter YOUR LOVE for HIM? Your showing LOVE Tammy, and he knows your heart! No worries my beautiful friend! Leave him be, and let all who stumble across your blog know you, and YOUR LOVE for JESUS.
He rocks!

Love you

I think it's a GREAT comfort to have the picture! Reminds me of the one that hung in my "Mamo's house when I was little :)

AND besides that...it is your blog! AND what a neat blog it is!!! I loved seeing our "Sisters of Faith" button on the side!

Debra, Tami, Smile and Angie, Thank you so much for you loving comments. I realize now I need to not be so sensitive. Plus, sometimes people are struggling with themselves and look to jab at someone else. So instead of getting upset, or hurt or worry, turn to Him, and pray for them.

You all are so awesome! I'm leaving it as is. Thank you and God Bless!!!

My friend, I find nothing absolutely nothing wrong with the picture of Jesus on your sidebar. In fact I commend you on your boldness and your faith in Him to place His picture on your blog. You my friend are truly not ashamed of the gospel. You know what Jesus has done for you and you are grateful. So proudly display Jesus' picture my friend! Let the world know that you are a child of a King and are not ashamed to show it.

It is just my opinion but...Anything that makes we think about my Savior is a good thing. We all know that it is not a photograph of him but a reminder that HE IS. Anyone that wants to find fault will find it somewhere. It is what is in our hearts that really matters because God looks at the heart. Love ya,
Judy

I don't see any problem with it. Plus it's your blog. I wouldn't worry about it. You can't please everyone, and you shouldn't even try to. Just keep following your heart. That's what makes your blog so awesome. But then that's just my opinion.

One of the reasons why I love your blog is the picture of Jesus.

I read through all of your comments, Tammie. Very impressed (and humbled) by what everyone had to say. You have a wonderful group of supporters here in the blogosphere.

Honestly, I feel that your blog is an extension of who YOU are. If the picture has meaning to you, then it should remain there.

Valerie Lynn, Judy, Chris, Great-Granny, Laura, Veronica, and Francesca, thank you so much for your endearing words. You are all so awesome. Thank you for the support!

This is one thing I love about blogging, is all the special people we meet. How we become connected to one another. We are all brothers and sisters and it feels that way.

I love you all, appreciate your comments and support. May the Lord continue to pour out His blessings on all of you.
